In Which Progress is Made

This week several projects made it past the half way mark.

I finished my second hotpad and started on the third. Doesn’t the teapot look good with them?

At the beginning of the year I set myself a challenge of 18 completed projects by the end of the year using Ravelry’s new feature. In the spirit of the challenge, I’m counting the four hotpads as a single project, not four, in Ravelry. As of June 30th I was half way there – right on track.

I’ve also stuck to my Tour de Fleece goal and am working my way through my plying. I’m now 3/4th of the way there (thank you scale for proving that yes the ply ball is getting smaller). My first two ounces netted about 240yds, so I should have a nice bit of yarn at the end. This keeps me going.

Also exciting, I finished the first sock and my first afterthought heel. And it fits well! I’m always a bit nervous with new heel and toe methods as some I’ve tried just don’t work for me. Spiral toe – I’m looking at you.

So the second sock is cast on and started:

All in all its been a good week of making it past the half way point. Now I just need to finish a few of them before I give in to the urge to cast on a few more things…
