As you recall, I don’t play yarn chicken. No, I use tools like my scale, my calculator and MATH to avoid the stress that is yarn chicken. But if I had been playing yarn chicken, I’d just like you to know that I would have won. By 7in.
No, 7in of yarn does not weigh 1g, which is what I was supposed to have left. I am quite sure my knitting didn’t get looser. Instead, I believe the failure occured sooner – while spinning. Evidently, the 2nd half of the skein had fewer yards than the first.
On the plus side, I will not have any inner battles about how little yarn is too little to keep. No struggles about throwing out precious hand spun.
Even better, it’s nice and cool this morning (we won’t talk about the forecast for later today), so I can admire how squishy and cozy this cowl looks instead of scowling at its wooly warmth. Sitting here in a cool breeze, I can imagine a winter day when the recipient will be glad to have it.
