Well that didn’t take long…

Somehow this happened. Be honest, the colors are a bit too subtle aren’t they?

Cascade of Clowns - cuff 1

And yup, that’s another pair of socks on the needles. I went two whole days between finishing one pair and starting the next this time. That’s more than twice as long as last time. And yes, this is one of my travel projects. No, I am not traveling yet.

Somehow it seems like a good idea to me to set myself a deadline of finishing these before I return to Germany at the end of August. So, it thus also seems like a good idea to get started now. I’m wearing my new McCulloch socks for the first time when I travel on Thursday, so in my mind there is some sort of balance to completing another pair of socks in time to travel the other direction. Sure, it took over a month to complete McCulloch, but I was working on loads of other stuff and didn’t have all the plane time. These should also go more quickly, as the yarn is a thicker fingering and I moved up from size 0 to size 1 needles. These will be a breeze!

What about the cowl? It’s still coming with me and I’m sure I’ll want a break from the socks at some point, perhaps at some moment when the insane level of cheer of those colors gets to be too much. Beside, TheEnabler won’t want to wear a buffalo wool cowl for a couple months yet. I have plenty of time to get it done.

  1. The books sound great – hard choice. I also appreciated your packing process for a trip. I always pack my projects for a trip before I pack anything else, because otherwise if push comes to shove and I rum out of time at the end they tend to get left behind or packed too rapidly without all the necessary tools, etc….
Sounds like you are well prepared. We are looking forward to seeing both you and Bernard soon. Just saw Rachel Elizabeth & Vincent off to G Joan’s house.
