It’s not supposed to go on forever…

  • Crochet

I’ve been working on stage 5 and row 21 of the Ergane cowl for a couple days now. It seemed like it was going on forever. In an effort to buck myself up and prove there was progress, I counted how many of the repeats I’d completed. It was 15. 15 should be good as based on a little math (240 st, 12 st to a repeat), there should be 20 repeats. But then I held it up, I looked at it… and I’m only half way there:

Too big Ergane

This was… not a good sign. Also, you may notice that there is the appearance of this getting bigger. Because it is. Way back, I screwed up and did 50% more on a row than I should have.

Ergane ripping back

Everything circled in green has got to go. At least crochet is fairly easy to rip back – there’s just one stitch to pick up when you get where you want to go.

Le sigh… I thought I was done with the problem ball of yarn, but I’m not.
