Just couldn’t take it any longer…

I know that there are people who swear by knitting two-at-a-time on two needles. I keep giving it a try, but I can never hold out for long. My latest try was on my sweater top, where by splitting front and back onto separate needles it was easier to try on as I went.

But I reverted back to one – if I need to try it on, I’ll knit half onto my second needle temporarily. It’s the second needle that’s the problem. It clanks and knocks against stuff, my table, my chair, my phone, etc… Drives. Me. Nuts.

I’m making really good progress on it now. Until I get to finishing steps, it’s just stockinette with some simple increases for hip shaping.

My progress is in part to an afternoon spent knitting yesterday. I finally had time to spend 5hrs of my afternoon traveling to and from Berlin to hang out with other knitters in a cafe/restaurant for several hours. It’s a great way to knock out some stockinette that just goes round and round. It’s a good 70min or so away via public transport, but it’s not too many connections so there’s some good knitting time in during travel too.

Last night I got a bit sick of the stockinette though and pulled out a hat I started last spring and which has been neglected through the heat of summer. It’s getting a bit chillier now though, so maybe I should finish it:

I’ve been more or less making it up as I go. So I’m not sure if the couple rows I did last night were what I was planning last June, but I can’t remember anymore.
