Woolie Chic

We haven’t buckled and turned on the heat yet (well, except 30min in my office only that one super cold rainy day early in October). This is thanks to three things: 1) good insulation, 2) being cheap (me, not my husband), and 3) good woolies. We’re both clad in nice wool socks, I’ve got a wool sweater on and he’s got his buffalo silk cowl on (that yarn is seriously warm for being 50g of lace weight). I do need to start corraling the scarves and shawls lying around. And sweaters. I seem to have developed an approach of leaving something on every couch or chair and grabbing what’s nearest at hand when I feel a chill. At some point TheEnabler will notice and suggest maybe I pick some of it up. Our apartment is spacious, but hardly rambling so “I might have to go to another room for a shawl” doesn’t really cut it as an excuse.

Yesterday was a holiday for me, so I went downtown in the morning to pick up our monthly bus pass, and thought it would be nice to get a coffee on the square. I was feeling pretty chic in my lovely leather half trench (early b-day gift from my husband), fedora and scarf while I sat in a cafe chair outside on one of the main squares in town. I had to wonder just a bit if my oh-so-cool appearance was negatively impacted at all by pulling out my knitting…

But, this diligent knitting is why I am so very very close to done. I think another 15 rows or so, plus the i-cord neck edging, and I’ll be finished:

Zinone - almost there!

Are you sick of all the orange and pick yet? I’m not! I’m really looking forward to wearing it.
