Back from London

My work trip was good, but intense so as suspected, I didn’t get to see a lot of London. We’d leave for the office just as it was getting light, and get back well after dark (it is December – it gets dark early, by 4pm more or less.)

I did a little spinning while waiting in lines and worked on my Frozen Leaves shawl on the planes, but the former doesn’t have much to show and the latter mostly still looks like green spaghetti. While in the office, my knitting was my mobious cowl since that was simple alternating rows of plain knit and plain purl.

When I took a look Saturday, I realized I was just about done, but it needed a little something more. So I improvised a slightly smaller repeat of Whorl which I’d made previously, changing it from a 12st/20row to a 10st/16 row repeat and alteratine two rows knit with two rows purl to match the garter I’d been doing. Right around dinner time I finished casting off.

I expect it’ll look better once blocked, so I threw in a pic of the view from my hotel in London to add a bit of visual interest:

Jealous? It was pretty cool for the few minutes I got to see it in daylight! Luckily they light it up at night too:

Before I left I also finished the Luck Dragon Socks, but they were still blocking when I headed out the door Monday, so I waited until I’d returned to take photos:

They are now safely tucked away until Christmas. TheEnabler declared that he will wait to receive them. Since I’ve been wearing my Christmas gifts already, this is really pretty nobel and restrained of him.

With the Luck Dragon Socks and Mobius cowl completed, it also means I’ve officially met my personal Ravelry challenge to complete 18 projects this year since the Mobius Cowl makes 19.
