For those who celebrate, I hope you had a Merry Christmas. We had a lovely relaxed Christmas. I did a lot of the cooking Monday so that Tuesday morning was just the turkey and making the cranberry chutney. We had a Christmas lunch and then headed out for beers at the local brewery (open for a few hours in the afternoon).
I’ve had a decent bit of time to work on knitting and crochet. All my hot pads are finally done.
It’s nice to know I’ll be going into the New Year without this little project still in progress. The two that don’t look like the others are a gift done in a heavier worsted weight cotton. This made them quicker to knit up and a bit more “heavy duty”.
I had a strong incentive to finish up my last two of my set of four on Monday as I got ready to launch into holiday cooking and realized I was quickly going to run out of hot pads for use removing things from the over as I set hot items to cool on my hot pads (we, er, don’t really have any trivets). I finally sewed up the one I’d had all but done for months and knocked out the fourth one.
I’m also on the edging of the green monster:
I am very much ready to finish this one off. The edging isn’t nearly as entertaining as watching hte leaves form row my row, and the many yarn overs are a pain on the purl row. I also have to check each chart as I begin each new row as the edging starts to resolve into it’s final pattern.
I’ve started winding yarn to get started on the next round of projects. Yup, defnitely ready to finish up Frozen Leaves.
