It occured to me that, while I showed you what I bought at Wonderwool Wales, I didn’t show much about what I worked on. You’re probably thinking I just added to my stash but didn’t get any crafting done.
Not true! I think I actually got a nice bit of crafting done while I was there.
First, I knocked out a good chunk of the second blue sock. When we left, I was just starting the heel flap. Notice how far down the foot I am now:
I also got started on the last ounce of my pomegranate colored mohair, though I’ll admit this was the least productive of my projects:
I’m more proud of the fact that I added significantly to the silk singles I’ve been working on from a silk hankie for, well, an embarrassingly long time. I love spinning them, but pulling apart the hankies requires a bit of patience (or it hurts your hands – silk is STRONG!) so it’s slowish going.
But mostly, I’m pretty freaking pleased with how much more like a sock the first of the kilt hose looks. I wasn’t even done with the leg when we left for the airport, and now I’m well past the gusset and into the foot.
However, all of these have been placed on hold again during the past week while I try to knock out another project. I’ll show you when it’s done – I sort of like the idea of this one appearing finished and complete.
