Stranded Raku socks complete

I finished the socks on time on Wednesday, and they were dry before my aunt arrived Thursday. I love how the colors turned out with the stranded bits of yarn. They remind me of old stained glass windows with the dark leading and sunlight working its way through.

So, success! Now I can return to working on my cardigan. I need to keep at it even as the weather gets hotter and the idea of wearing extra clothing seems unthinkable. I need to remember summer will end and fall will come and I will want this. Happily, that’s a little easier today with a cool evening breeze than earlier this week when the weather topped 90F (over 32C).

In other fluffy news – the increased heat has meant increased balls of kitty fluff floating around the house as she sheds more. We had an extensive brushing session this morning in a (probably doomed) effort to reduce the clouds of fur drifting in the corners.
