I feel like I’m over the hump on my cardigan (or is that two humps?) I’m past the bust now, which means I’ve finished all my bust dart increases (and corresponding decreases) as well as my short rows. When I try it on, it looks good. The front edges stay more or less parallel. If they curved and the space between left and right gets wider at the widest part of the bust, it’s going to gape. So that they both stay straight is a good sign. I’m at the waist increases for the hip now.
There is still plenty of stockinette to go – at least another 13cm in the body (we’ll see if I want to make it a bit longer) plus both sleeves. I think I’ll be OK for yarn though, as I’m still only part way through the second of four skeins.
Kitty likes it too, though she feels it could use a little cat fur in the fiber composition:
I also just can’t get enough of this colorway. I love how the blues shift in different lights. Right now, I’m enjoying how the greens have faded and the blues deepened and intensified in the evening light. I’m also enjoying the long summer days, right on the cusp of the longest day. I’m still easily able to knit outside on the balcony at almost 21:30. We have lovely clouds this evening, after a day of periodic rain and thunderstorms. I don’t begrudge the rain as we could really use it.
And of course the sky has changed even as I write this post. Goes well with my current spinning project, don’t you think?
