That’s my excuse for the time between posts. I never had any intention of taking the time to post while visiting AwesomeE and my folks last weekend, but I sort of thought I’d post sometime this week.
But here we are Saturday, and I’ve only got time for a quick post before TheEnabler and I head off to a nice dinner out. I made it through each work day just barely, and found it hard to do simple knitting at anything faster than a crawl in the evening, so coherent sentences for the blog were just out of the question.
Sunday, AwesomeE and I went to Lovelyyarns in Baltimore. They had lots of small batches of fun skeins in various indie dyers. I’d go there again to look for a cool find and inspiration, but if you have a clear project in mind I think it would be hit or miss if they’d have something you need (not exactly sweater quantities in solids for example). I purchased some organic cotton from the Great Adirondack Yarn Co, Inc in lively spring colors:
I also finished spinning another turtle of “Ocean Rain” from John Arbon Textiles and started on the third:
So I’m more than half way done the singles. I could start plying the two completed turtles on another spindle if I want, but I may wait to do it on the same one.
And I’ve made some good progress on my shawl. I’m on the third chart section, and after that I bind off.
This section is pretty straight forward with each row’s lace clearly based off of the previous one. Even so, it’s been hard for me to work on this week, a clear sign of the muddle brain I’ve suffered from jet lag.
