I’ve been working on the front panel of my Arequita Tunic, and I’m finally past the lace panel:
This is an important progress marker not just because it means I’ve actually been working on it, but now I’m also freed up to work on it away from my computer. You probably don’t remember, but the PDF for this pattern has an annoying quirk: the chart symbols disappear when opened on anything but my PC leaving behind an empty grid. So as long as I needed to check the chart (and this one isn’t an easy one to memorize) I had to do this from my desk. Now I can work from the couch in the evening as well.
All the stitch markers are so I can keep track of where I am making adjustments. This is a straight tunic by design, which means I’d have to go up a couple sizes to fit my bust and end up with a tent. Unless I wanted to wear it with a belt… not a good look. So I’m adding a little extra fabric to the front bust area. I’m also doing a little waist shaping front and back, though I’m trying to keep it subtle, and not too close fitted, so I maintain some of the airy loose appearance of the tunic design.
Also, some goodies arrived. I’ll hold off on showing the June Clan of Igor colorway just yet, in case anybody out there is waiting for theirs to arrive, but I can show you the fluff!
I’m not sure what it wants to be just yet, but I think it’s going to be another one that I keep thicker and fluffier, and part of my goal to work outside my default spinning range… I feel like thin and high twist isn’t going to do those colors justice.
Also… Undercover Otter has resumed shipping outside of Europe! Just in case any of you out there were waiting on an order or waiting to place one. That said – if you received a shipping confirmation, you may need to practice a little patience yet. I’ve also heard things are still a little slow to clear US customs.
