It’s been a busy week on a number of front. I’ve had a lot of work meetings, including some later into the evening, so that’s definitely reduced my time for crafting and blogging.
I have been able to get a decent amount of spinning done, and I’ll be on the 6th and final cop of yarn soon.
In the photo above, I was just starting to transition to the yellow, and now I’m down with solid yellow and starting my transition to the toffee-brown fiber. I’ll be honest, while I love the yellow color, for some reason it wasn’t my favorite color to spin. It was almost too bright or something. I think it’ll look great in the gradient, but I’m glad to be moving onto a color with a little more depth and subtlety. Maybe it was just such a bright yellow right after such a bright green that was the issue.
The other reason for being a bit busy outside of work hours the last couple days is a really good one – we have vaccination appointments! We got the appointments with the help of a colleagues’ mother, who is chasing down appointments for people in her spare time. So I’ve been busy downloading the various consent forms and getting those filled out.
If you’re still on the fence about getting vaccinated, I urge you to get your vaccination. The only way we get through this pandemic is by working together, and herd immunity requires that most of the population be vaccinated. Remember as well that herd immunity is important – this isn’t just an individual choice. The vaccines aren’t approved for children yet (and kids can get very ill, die, or suffer long term damage from Covid19, even if the overall rates are lower) and for some people, the vaccine is not an option due to pre-existing conditions. Most adults can be safely vaccinated though! So please get yours when it’s available.
