A pause

I’ve been feeling pretty guilty as the timer in the back of mind kept ticking forward telling me it had been one more day since I last posted. But between work and prepping for our move, it’s been hard to find time or mental energy. When I do have some time not taken up by one of the aforementioned duties, it’s felt more important to use it to check in with friends one last time before leaving, or have some proper down time.

Don’t get me wrong – I enjoy working on this blog and putting together posts. But it’s also work! I mean… I want to share pretty pictures and coherent thoughts. But the time to put those together is in short supply. So, I’ve decided to stop letting the anxiety of not getting to the blog use up some of my precious precious mental and emotional bandwidth. I’m calling an official hiatus through the month of August. I mean… most of the Europeans go and take a holiday right around now anyways. And putting the blog on hold is as close to “vacation” as I’m going to get this summer.

See you all in September! Hopefully with my stash safely delivered and reunited with all of the things I left behind in North Carolina. Have fun, stay cool, and stay safe.

A finished, but unblocked, brioche shawl is stretched out against a grey wool blanket. Next to it a sleeping white and black fluffy cat is stretched out. The shawl main color is a vivid blue with orange and pink “fireworks” as the contrast color. Syncopated stitches create “fireworks”.
