I actually got past those blasted triangles only a few days after having to start them all over again. I guess the 2nd time through I was a bit quicker. Maybe it was sheer willpower to get past them.
Now I am happily onto the rest of the border. Let me just say…. the rows are LONG now. I’m using a 40in cord and things are super tight on it. Not only has the overall width of the shawl grown, but because I’m doing these jagged triangles, I’m actually taking an extra long zig-zag path across the width of the shawl.
It reminds me a bit of when when AwesomeE and I would take her grandmothers’ dog for a walk. We’d go along the country road while she dashed into the woods or fields and back again. We’d go perhaps 4miles, but by the time we arrived home she would have done 2-3x what we did and be completely wiped out. Only in this case, I’m the dog bounding back and forth covering ground side to side to go forwards. However, I really love how the garter contrast stripes here pop out, which is an inversion of the garter green areas in previous sections. It’s flipping the effect.
Teaser: Andean backstrap weaving last weekend was amazing and I will get a post and photos out of that. Just so. dang. cool.
